She is a graduate of UGA with an undergraduate degree in Consumer Journalism and a master’s degree in Business Communication. Amie was born in Gainesville, Florida (which isn’t the safest thing to admit in Dawg country) but moved to Georgia when she was three years old. Outside of the salon, her interests include her dogs, her family, scuba diving (with sharks no less), and travel. Amie has been in Athens since 1997, and her Athens favorites include restaurants like Depalma’s and the Last Resort, downtown shops like Helix, and any City Salon team member will tell you she loves Chick-Fil-A! Her favorite thing about working at the salon is the staff – watching them grow and excel and learn, many all the way from apprenticeship to senior stylist. Amie is a graduate of many Bumble and bumble business classes including Business Immersions I, II, and I, Front Desk Workshop, and she was recently chosen to be part of the Success Panel at the Bb Winter Assembly in March 2008. This was quite an honor because only four managers were chosen for this panel out of the entire Bumble and bumble network, both internationally and here in the U.S. She has also completed a management class at the Dermal Institute in Atlanta. She was born in Casper\, Wyoming and has traveled around quite a bit in between then and now (she was an international flight attendant for a spell)\; she now loves Athens where she enjoys the downtown music scene and restaurants like East West\, where her hubby works. Chance is full of knowledge when it comes to hair – she\’s completed numerous classes at Bumble and bumble University in New York, including Styling I and II, Design Workshop and Studio, Color Workshop I, and Chance also completed the Schwarzkopf European Color Certification program. She was a featured Network Educator at the Bb 2008 Network Educator Winter Assembly. This was a huge honor\, as only five educators were chosen for the assembly across the entire Bb network, both internationally and here in the U.S. Her favorite thing about working with City Salon is the many opportunities for growth and getting to do editorial work\; her work has appeared in multiple issues of Athena Magazine\, and she is a great force to have on our photo shoots. Since she was among the accomplished elite in her school, she has been taking clients for quite some time while in DC, so she comes to us with loads of knowledge and experience. We are thrilled to have her as part of the City team! While in Washington, she participated in DC Fashion Week, and she also recently completed Creative Cut and Color Training in Las Vegas. Lauren was born and raised in Georgia and is happy to return to her roots here in Athens. He is a graduate of many continuing education courses, including various Redken and MOP classes. Ricky’s favorite services include highlight and color services that appear oh-so-natural, and he also really enjoys men’s styles and shorter women’s styles that require a more technical artistic eye. He has many clients that have a finer hair texture, so if you have finer, softer hair, then Ricky is the stylist for you! He knows how to help you achieve the voluminous locks you’ve been dying for. Ricky loves it here at City Salon because of the environment of teamwork, and he hopes to become a City educator in the future; many staff members and apprentices have already learned a lot from him so he is well on his way! After completing her B.A. in Psychology from Auburn University and narrowly escaping a short-lived career as a high school biology teacher\, Olive seized the opportunity to study Hair Design at The Process Institute of Cosmetology. Since her career change\, she\'s found an unmatched passion for her job and for people. Beyond creating soft or funky cuts and color\, she is certified in hair extensions and is one of two stylists in the salon trained in Novalash Eyelash Extensions. And as a lifelong \"Bang Wearer\", armed with the knowledge that few things are worse than an awkward bang\, she is always in pursuit of the perfect fringe.
